Federal contractors aggressively target veterans when recruiting new talent and looking to fill vacancies across the organization. Unfortunately, their efforts to recruit and onboard veterans aren’t always effective. Ultimately, many hiring organizations struggle to connect with veterans who are transitioning from military to civilian life and find it difficult to match their past experience in the field to a job within their organization.
This is a challenge that ARServices has been able to overcome consistently. The company has successfully recruited, hired and retained veterans in diverse roles across the organization. In fact, more than one-third of ARServices’ employees are veterans.
This success recruiting, hiring and onboarding veterans was the topic of conversation when ARServices’ CEO, Jay McCargo, sat down with the Federal Technology Insider (FTI) to record a podcast.
During their discussion, Mr. McCargo shared how the company and its leadership team honor, recruit and retain veterans. He shared details into how the company dedicates time and resources to many local and national charitable organizations that serve the military and their families, and also illustrated how – inside the company – his team has systematically connected with transitioning veterans in order to match qualified candidates with available positions.
Mr. McCargo also discusses why the attributes that veterans bring to the company makes hiring veterans more than the right thing to do – it makes good business sense.
