Day of Service

Beginning in 2012, ARServices initiated the "A Day of Service" program within ARServices, which provides each employee 8 additional hours of leave to go towards volunteering to a non-profit organization of their choice, affording employees the opportunity to give back.

Organizations that have received donations through this Day of Service Program include D.C. Harvest Food Bank, Alexandria Community Shelter, Happy Hope Foundation, Alexandria National Cemetery, Philabundance, Sunrise Living Center, and the D.C. Diaper Bank, to name just a few.

Over the last 6 years, ARServices has directly contributed resources to numerous charitable, community-based organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Sunrise Senior Living, Spiritual Care Support Ministries (SCSM), Friends of the National Zoo, Fisher House, Code of Support, Message of Hope Foundation, In Christy's Shoes, and Races for Peace.

Project Discovery

ARServices partnered with Alexandria High School on “Project Discovery”, which allows first-generation college students access to higher education. In addition to internship opportunities for students, ARServices has given over $80,000 towards this effort in the form of salaries of the scholarships and salaries of interns as well as the Coach of the T.C. Williams STEM and sponsorship of the school's robotics team. These internships provide real-world office experience and an opportunity for continued education in STEM-related fields.

Veteran Resource Group (VRG)

With such a diverse workforce and many proud United States military veterans, ARServices began the Veteran Resource Group (VRG). The first employee resource group for the organization, the ARServices VRG is a team of veterans and non-veterans that cultivates relationships and professional growth through networking, education, and career development, all while serving the communities around us. One of the specific intentions of the VRG is to foster relationships with veteran-focused organizations and participate in community outreach. To execute this mission, the VRG has held events such as participating in Wreaths Across America, Mission Continues DC Platoon, establishing a mentorship program, and facilitating and fostering relationships for veteran transition assistance success.
