Mr. John Walton is the Senior Vice President of Counter Threat Services for ARServices. He serves as the Program Manager for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) Research and Development (RD) Project Management Office (PMO) Advisory and Administrative Services (A&AS) contract. He provides ARServices further with overall management and direction for more than 130 FTEs in support of DTRA RD’s $1B annual Science and Technology (S&T) program. Prior to coming to ARServices, Mr. Walton served as the Department Task Lead for the DTRA RD’s CWMD Technologies Department (RD-CX) on the DTRA RD PMO A&AS contract, where he led and managed more than 50 FTEs focused on countering threats.

Mr. Walton is a retired U.S. Army Officer with more than 28 years of leadership in senior program/project management, risk management, strategic planning, process improvement, DoD acquisition, program objective memorandum (POM)/planning, programming, budgeting and execution (PPBE), C-UAS, and solution implementation. He has extensive federal experience and provides core expertise in the areas of program and systems integration, DoD acquisition processes and procedures, and risk mitigation with a focus on asymmetric threats. Mr. Walton has a deep understanding of DoD and Army-related portfolio challenges and CWMD scope areas, to include countering uncrewed systems. He is thoroughly versed in DoD planning processes and navigating organizational infrastructures with extensive experience in DoD’s POM and PPBE processes.

Mr. Walton spent five years as a leader in the U.S. Army’s Asymmetric Warfare Group focused on identifying asymmetric threats and solutions and assisting federal organizations in building risk-mitigating solutions to complex problems. He also spent two years in the Special Operations community serving in the 75th Ranger Regiment, along with multiple combat tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait at various echelons of leadership. He has a BS in Management from the American Public University System and a MS in Management and Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy, is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and maintains an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
